SAN GUSME’

A picturesque medieval hamlet is waiting for you: welcome to the Sienese Chianti.

Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, this small town embraced by the hills of Chianti has a long history to tell. Mentioned in official documents since the IX century, San Gusmè became a feud of the Ricasoli family during the XXII century, and even the circular city walls date back to this period.  Almost completely preserved, the town walls enclose the hamlet, the Church of Saint Cosma and Damiano and the Company Church, entitled to the Santissima Annunziata. The town has always been in harmony with nature, gently contained within the hills of Chianti; just outside of town, it is possible to visit Ombrone springs, the source of the second longest river in Tuscany after Arno.
