CHIANTI
A land of matchless beauty
Renowned worldwide for the excellence of its wines and the beauty of its landscapes, the Chianti area spreads between the Provinces of Siena and Florence, including a small portion of the province of Arezzo. Under a geographic perspective, the Chianti is a short mountain range mostly made of high hills, with a few peaks over 800 meters. Such a peculiar lay of the land made this region an ideal place for vineyards and olive groves. Although the current area was extended at the beginning of the past century in order to include the broad winemaking region, the historical Lega del Chianti originally encompassed only three municipalities in the Province of Siena alone.
